I've been working for Kroger for a little over a month now but mostly my shifts so far have been between 4 and 6 hours each. Today, I work from 1:30p - 10p. My first full day. I'm really just posting this as a way to vent because I'm nervous that the day will drag on and go by super slow. Also, people in my department that usually work the 130 - 10 shifts always leave at 930 and say it's because they didn't take lunch. Does that mean that if I don't take lunch I can leave at 930 too?

Oh being 2 days before Christmas.......you are in for a very busy day..... So I doubt your day will drag and go slow!!!!!!

  Ask your supervisor (department manager). It's up to their discretion.

Ok yep. As long as someone is still there You can leave a half hour early if you didn't take lunch.
