Well, nothing like a sweeping general statement, huh?
I can promise you I don't open, consume, take to the back, or leave the building with anything I don't have a receipt for. I can't afford to, I've got too much time invested in this job to lose it over something stupid like that. Because I promise you, we don't sell anything here that is worth the 23 years I've been working here.
What a broad statement. I bet a good percentage, if not all, of the employee thefts are done by stupid people who don't realize they're biting from the hand that feeds them. Some people actually care about the store turning a profit so they can keep their job, however miserable.
That is an all encompassing statement. Very false, too.
I can say that I never took anything out of the store or to the break room or anywhere else that I didn't have a receipt for. If they caught you consuming something you didn't have a receipt for, you'd be fired in a heartbeat. They checked. It definitely isn't worth the risk.
No longer at Kroger, but yeah, be careful. You'll be caught sooner or later. Probably sooner.
Wow!! I did NOT know I "shoplifted." What a bull**** statement... Oops.. Sorry. I mean your "right." However, I'd NEVER shoplift. It's NOT worth loosing a job. Although I will not rat out a shoplifter, I do warn them. " It's not a matter IF you get caught, it's a matter of WHEN you'll BE caught.
