It's the biggest waste of space and money I've ever seen.
well they probably think your a pretty big waste of space and money
Kroger opened an 87,000 sq. ft. store where I live.
Supposedly, the company bought a house nearby and will have VIPs stay in it when they visit this new store which is a prototype for future stores.
I doubt they will lose money on the deal.
Mother Earth needs to douche.

Clearly you haven't seen my store's new furniture section. Are we a ****ing walmart now?

The store I'm at is over 97,000 sq. ft. That doesn't include the loading dock which takes up an additional 8,200 sq. ft.
Personally, I think 87,000 sq. ft. is too big. 97,000 is way too big. Either way, the store I work in is about 50,000 sq. ft. and is big enough.
As for the expanded Bakery, here is an interesting article -

They did some re-set to our Deli at store 922 and the merchandisers ordered two full skids of product that we will never use. $5,000 down the drain and they want to bitch about a quarter hour OT.
