Freezeshop instead of sweatshop? I swear the air condition is on in our store during the winter. Customers complain, say they won't come back. Employees are wearing coats and layers of clothing just to work. Hey execs, turn up or on the heat down in Texas..it gets cold down here too idiots.
I used to work at a store that had this ancient air handler in the back. This thing probably had a manual written by Moses. Well, one winter it broke. We kept calling Facilities, and they kept looking at it to get it fixed. We even took the tack of getting customers to call in and complain. The final straw came when the store manager called facilities and said that it needed to be fixed immediately, as the sodas he kept in his office were cold enough to drink without being in the fridge. Facilities hemmed and hawed, trying to give excuses. It just so happened that he had the local union business agent in the office, who spoke to facilities over the speakerphone stating that if the company couldn't get this figured out, she was going to file a grievance against the store on behalf of every employee against the company for an unsafe work environment. They were out the next day, and had it fixed in a week. If you have a cool business rep, they can help you guys.

Dang it cutter do you know what store I work at as well!? You seem to know everyone elses~
ha, well some of these people seem to work in my area. When it was 19F outside alot of the employees were wearing coats and jackets because they complained it was cold inside too. The store manager gave them all a verbal warning and wrote some of them up for going against dress code even though he had a little jacket himself. The union representative told them to put the jackets back on, but the store manager insists he is wrong and told them to take it off.

Then maybe HE SHOULD pay for sick employees. I'm 99.99% sure that he won't. In fact, I'm almost 99.99% positive hell threaten write ups for Those that suggest it. And if he's forcing employees to remove their jackets, then he should as well.

If I'm cold I'm going to wear a jacket. To hell with my manager.

Would you like fries with th... I mean, your milk in a bag?
Our backroom has no A/C so in the summer all the chocolate melts and is thrown away. In the winter we only have a tiny heater, were told we can only wear unmarked hoodies/jackets, also applies when you are in the dairy cooler, meat cooler, and freezer. Any writing or logo's and its a write up. If they aren'g going to keep the backroom above 35 degrees in the winter with a tiny heater i'll wear whatever the hell I want.. In the winter its rediculous its over 90 degrees in the back room. We have A/C, Heater outlets....But they dont work...
