I have a multitude of questions in a short amount of time so bare with me please! I' m a 15 year old and my entire school county public system was closed  so I was wondering if I could work longer than three hours or am I still subject to the child labor laws while school is in session? My second question is if Kroger will still be open since the roads here in NC are frozen, will we still have to come in? And if so do we get a premium or anything like that? I know these are dumb questions, but please, I'm only 15 and this is my first job.

Work doesn't close when school does. You're still under labor laws until you're 18. You will not get extra pay.

In the columbus division  if school is closed the labor laws do not apply. Except for lunches.

What you can work has nothing to do with your division or its policies. That is governed exclusively by state child labor laws. The majority of those specify separate limits for when school is in regular session vs when it is not. If school is called out for the whole day, your "school not in session" limits would generally apply. However, you would need to have someone familiar with your state's laws figure it out for you.
