Sorry as I'm sure this has been asked before, but doesn't a indefinite suspension pending an investigation pretty much mean you're fired? I hope so because the co-worker this happened to isn't very well liked and we don't won't to see her come back.
The girl involved had early in her bakery shift the other day, cussed out the Head Produce clerk when he brought her the strawberries used to dip in chocolate for valentines day. Said she didn't have time to make them and she didn't have the f'n time to put them up. He said they are hers and they had already been transferred and he had to clear out the produce cooler for an order. So she cussed him some more. Customers overheard the cussing.
Later in the day she went to one of the guys in the deli while he was talking to the produce man and said "since you don't have nothing to do, you can take out my ****ing trash and boxes!" The guy in question was just inquiring about an order he placed for valentines day. He goes to tell the girl in the bakery she ain't his boss and to never speak to him like that again. She gives the whole I'm the senior employee this evening so I'm the boss routine.
Well after that she cusses the guy out and shoves him 4 times in view of customers and a few employees. The deli guy just walks away and talks to the manager on duty.
Anyway today the girl shows up and works part of her shift and tells a completely different story. They deli guy comes in talks to management and they take statements from him and the the employees who witnessed the event. After that the store manager called up another manager and the shop steward upstairs. And they call to the bakery and tell her to come upstairs and said she's "suspended indefinitely pending investigation"
Were hoping she's gone because she has a foul attitude and tries to act like shes a superior to employees with less senority.

This "definitely" sounds like a person with issues. Even worse the cussing and shoving was done out in the open!
She's gone. And it's a good thing she don't work at my store. She'd be term'd on the spot. And she'd have the crap beaten out of her. A female friend of mine would have rearranged her face if she shoved her. (Off company property of course and time) I would have told her to take out the trash her lazy assed self.
(Edit: I HOPE she frequents this site and sees this. But I don't think she's smart enough to)
Suspended indefinitely pending investigation doesn't necessary mean that your fired. I have seen employees wrongfully accused and stuck it out, fought the system and get their jobs back. It can be a long process, months, especially if they try and get the employee to give up and quit. With that being said, I have seen employees who have clearly done something wrong, statements against them and they still got their jobs back. It all depends on store management, the union steward and if the union is willing to fight for the employee to get their job back. It comes down to office politics and whether or not management sees this as an opportunity to get rid of an employee or give them a break. I've seen bad employees retain their jobs while good employees lost their jobs, there is no rhyme or reason to decision making from both the union and store management. They should be able to look at the cameras to see if she shoved anyone but like I said, it all depends on how tight the employee is with the union and management of that store!

Yup.
I had a coworker out for over 6 months. The union fought to get her job back and the agreement was therapy for her issues.
I have seen two other old timers return after a month of union negotiatingtheir jobs back.
I was thinking it was you Krogerman77 thankfully its not! Well, I would definitely say shes gone on the basis of "workplace violence". Judging by the information you provided from employees and customers if they took down statements shes gone after the pending investigation. The thing is not even the union can fight workplace violence and to top it off I would suggest to the employee that was grabbed to file assault charges. This would speed up her termination as it is a criminal matter.

Not me, but the girls in the bakery, and the deli/bakery departments heads say she should get her job back. They all stick together no matter how wrong someone is.
Agreed. I wonder if she shoved one of them they'd feel the same way. Sad thing is, if she shoves the wrong person, she's likely to get hurt one day. She should NOT get her job back
