How many hours will it be and how many days ? Also what will I be doing ? And what day will be my first pay check starting tomorrow?

This was my experience with it:

1. Orientation started at around 10AM, ended at about 4PM or so, I guess about six hours. It was a large group orientation, had room full of people in there.

2. If your orientation is the same store as where you'll be working, it should only take about a day or so (8 hours, including the orientation session itself as well as getting familiar with the store).

3. If you'll be in a different store, you'll be split between orientation in one store, and doing some other stuff in the store you'll be working in.

4. That "stuff" is basic computer training, you learn about the job you've been hired on and teaches on safety as well. That would be another 6-8 hours, depending on what position you've been hired.

5. Your first "paycheck" will include the hours/days you've participated in orientation as well as training. So say that you started orientation on the 15th for eight hours, did training on the 16th (Sunday, new week) and started your "first day" on the 17th (Monday), your paycheck will be next Thursday (27th) or whatever day your store pays you during that week. In that paycheck, the hours you've spent on orientation and training will be in the check, as well as the hours you've worked the previous week (the week of the 16th).

Oh, make sure that the orientation has something for you to fill out when you arrive as well as when you leave. It should be something that records what time you've shown up, as well as what time the orientation session ended. Same for when you're on the computer training. Ask someone from management about someone "clocking you in" and out.

Every store is different I'm  sure. They teach you how to use the clock when you go in. Applied for night stocker, went in 2 different days.  4 hours each day for computer training.  Had to go in another day for a small group orientation where we listened to a manager talk about the Kroger company and watched slide show. Lasted 2-3 hours. Paid for 8 hours training and 3 hours orientation.

Started the next shift/week.

Good Luck
