If a manager tells you to do something one way and you do it that, and then they come along and badger you for doing it that way and say you were suppose to do it the opposite way, can you file a harassment claim? In other words, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.
If it's a one time thing then no. HOWEVER, if they do it consistently then yes. Also do NOT let them write you up if they say to do it one way, then bitch and get mad and say that you did it wrong.
What about employees who always start rumours or make comments on the internet. Would that be considered harassment? Calling people that are older than them useless and making disparaging remarks about peoples sexuality or race.Kroger has some of the finest people and some of the hardest working people I have ever met. Then again they also employ some of the nastiest and meanest people you will ever encounter. That is life in general I guess.
That is harassment if they say derogatory, racist, slurs on the internet about one person or a group. My suggestion is that to log EVERYTHING ANYBODY says that is racist down. Save internet conversations. That way if you (or anyone) decides to go further, you'll have your backup needed to use against the ones doing the abuse. Also, don't let management force you into dropping the situation out if fear of termination, demotion. If they do that turn them in too. No one has to tolorate ANY harassment EVER. From ANYBODY.

I wish I could agree with this, but, I can't. I've known plenty of people that have been harassed by their coworkers but have done nothing about it out of fear of losing their job. The truth of the matter is, things can get really complicated. There could be favorites, hidden agendas, backdoor deals, etc. It's called living in the real world. It's a matter of picking and choosing your battles.
Now, as for this particular case, if OP wasn't written up, it's best to just let it slide off your back. The truth of the matter is, managers could care less about you. Once in a while, you might get some that pretend to care at least. The ones who truly care never stay at Kroger very long.
Take it from me OP, don't escalate things if you don't have to. As long as there's no write-up, just do your best and let things slide off your back.
