over night cashiers are expected to do all the work that was not done all day. For 4 hour they expect you to do everything.
Consequently the over night casher is the only working person in the whole bleep store. Who is to say oh I want everything
done by morning. You do not need a break any help or you can just keep it to yourself. For .75 we take on the burden
of the whole entire operation. They never say you are doing a good job they only complain.
The best places to work are places where manager appreciate their employees and treat them with respect. These jobs have fewer turn over and better work environment.
75c? It's only 30c here. And, believe you me, it's not worth it if you actually have a choice in the matter. Unfortunately, not everyone has that choice.
And whatever doesn't get done by the overnight cashier gets done by the first cashiers and baggers in. At least that happens in our store. Ours usually gets go-backs done, but that is sometimes all. Seems to be perfectly fine with our front end manager. Oh the overnighter also does what was always typically the office persons responsibility of doing the break board, pass the baton and call-up list.
I don't mind doing go backs.. It keeps me off the register making all the as*hole customers go through self check plus my shift goes by faster... And we don't get b*tched at. Our supervisors are usually gone by 10pm and the night manager comes in at 11pm.
our store actually closes at 1 am but I know that in Produce we have a skeleton crew of 2 people after 4 pm, you know, the busiest time of the day. We are expected to clean ****ing everything and take out all the trash and break down the truck and 80 other things we can't possibly do while the daytime people just run for the hills and leave a mess when they leave. We do not get paid more. Welcome to Kroger.
the standard night cashier duty list isn't that extensive and mostly involves cleaning and organizing the front end for the next day.
also in my store the shift is eight hours. there's no one to break you but you get by while you lose your mind with boredom. i usually read.
in ATL the night premium is just 65c
are others doing go backs? or is this an actual overnight cashier not just the self-checkout attendant? our cashiers usually leave by 11 or midnight or, at one point, one AM.
