I had an interview for a Pharmacy Manager position last week. Unlike other companies, Kroger had a personal interview in the first round(as other companies hold a telephone interview for the first round). Is this common with Kroger??? How long does it take to hear back from them? (the lady said i may hear from HR in this week if selected) What will be the next step since i am already done with the personal interview if I am selected?( bcoz lady who took my interview said that if selected, they would be sending offer letter). I am pretty sure there has to be a drugtest and other formalities even before sending me the offer letter.
I would really appreciate if anyone who has gone through the same situation or who is already working for the company share their experience.
Most of us saps are stockers and wouldn't know much about the pharmacy manager position. I doubt anyone is going to send an offer before you take a drug test and a background check though. Then again, what do I know
I understand every job has different requirement and interview accordingly. But thought company norms would be same for all management positions and if anybody had similar experience with the interview.

Hope to hear some good news.

Unfortunately, it's uncommon for management positions to be occupied from someone who hasn't moved up to said position. The only management person I know is one of the co-managers who used to work for a competing retailer.
Often times, management positions are filled by those who literally worked their way up through the company. And as such, as lowly people on this site are made up of clerks, cashiers, stockers, service department workers, etc., with perhaps only one or two people recalling their time as members of management.
That aside, at the very least, Kroger will do one final one-on-one interview, followed almost immediately by a drug test and a background check.
I'll also add that before jobs are advertised/announced, they often post notices in stores for open positions at other stores, with applicants interested being required to submit the proper paperwork by a certain deadline. Again, just adds to the fact that Kroger likes to "hire from within".
I wish for the best regarding your bid for the position, however.
