Newbie here. At my interview, I was told that I would be meeting with someone to determine my wage. He ( store manager) couldn't tell me that since it varies from employee to employee. I had drug test done last Wednesday and he called me today to tell me to come in this Wednesday for orientation. Is that when it takes place.
Side note/question: WOW!! From what I am reading, people seem frustrated with the place. How hard is it really to get full time hours?
Only customer service manager, accountants, file clerks, and front end lead get full time at my store's front end. Get in a dept. like grocery or produce and pick up shifts to get full time.

Discuss your wage? Shh, don't let the union know, or they might raise a fit of rage if it turns out that you'll be paid more than some 30-year utility clerk.
Anyway, yes and no on when it'll take place. If the orientation will be at the same store you'll be working in, then possibly. If not, it'll probably be during your first week or so.
And nowadays, it's very difficult to get full time hours unless you know what department to be in. Front end is already a no-no for that. I know that one of my coworkers ended up becoming what many refer to as the "manager's bitch" just to get 40 hours.
