So Kroger only gives me about 20 hours a week, max, and that's if I am lucky -- I'm bottoming out usually at around 15-16 hours. Yea, it's part-time, I knew that when I took the job, but $500 a month doesn't do much these days.
We also have an Ingles in our area and they are hiring for evening stockers. Would it be any sort of a conflict of interest in any area if I was working for them as well? I mean, yes, I'd have to be hired there first, but has anyone ever done that? Worked for two grocery stores at once with both obviously a different brand?
Do you even have to ask? Of course it's a conflict of interest. Whether you choose to pursue it is up to you. If Kroger finds out though, they'll let you go. I have known some people who have done it though. Their situation is like yours. They work at one store during the day and at the other store at night. If the store you're planning to work at at night is closed to the public during those hours, you're less likely to be seen by someone who knows you from Kroger.
just dot let anyone from either store know you work for the other guys and you'll be fine
Holy God, how could you possibly expect OP to get away with doing this for any worthwhile length of time? It would be asking for trouble at best, and pure idiocy at worst.
This is one of those things that if you do it, and lose one job (or both) you'd have only yourself to blame.
Unless someone is "illegally" obtaining your information, what does tax time have to do with it? If you can hide it from one another, go for it. Kroger could care less about us and struggling to make ends meet.
