Union rep taking a fulltime job in a store.

I'm a back up frozen food clerk working my way to head frozen manager. At another store the head and frozen backup employees  weren't doing so good so they asked them to step down. The backup got to keep his full-time by going to nights only because our union rep fought for him. So as the backup frozen food position got posted I called every store in this district to find out who has signed it. The reason why I was inquiring about it was I didn't want someone that had more full time seniority to sign it cause when the head frozen at the same store came open I was the next in line to get it. At the last minute before the papers were turned in our union rep signed it. Of course he will sign the head frozen when it opens because he has to being the backup or he will loose the backup position. Yes he has more full time seniority on me. What a good way to set yourself up since your from the inside. ( to my opinion) OK he has been a union rep as long as I have worked for Kroger which has been 7 1/2 years. I understand that he has every right to sign bids to get back in the store. My personal opinion is I think since he deals with employees signing bids he knew what was coming up and who would be interested in it. I have never had a problem with him and he knows I can do the job. He even knows that for the last 6 months that I wanted a head frozen job. He also knows that I just closed on my house and I have a teenager and a toddler to raise. Where he is gonna take a pay cut I'm loosing 5 dollars on the hour by not getting the position. This is just my opinion but we pay our union dues for him to help us make something of ourselves with Kroger and to save our jobs not to set back for years and then set himself up and burn the employees. So am I over reacting? Why am I so pissed cause he had every right to sign whatever he wants. I would still be pissed if it happen to one of my friends now my worst enemy  I would laugh my ass off. Opinions would be help full so I can deal with it when I run into him. Thanks.

Forgot to add that the Head frozen employee signed 6 different positions from Charleston. The Head frozen has not been posted yet and wont until the bids that she signed she wins one of them. Union rep will already be backup frozen by that time cause that bid came down on the 28th of last month so anytime the union rep will know that they got the position. I know the union rep will get the backup cause I personally called/stopped by to check who signed the bid cause I wanted to know who my backup would be ( when I got head department) they were all part time employees except the full time union rep that came out of the wood work. I will go ahead and sign the head frozen when it gets posted but I have no chance in hell to get it.

Opinions please. Am I overreacting? How would you take it if it happened to you?

It is ok to be upset but don't let it get under your skin.

A union steward is supposed to be full time.  The lead bids are for part timers or regular full timers to move up.

An energy clause(lives very close to store and saves fuel) is the only way a full time manager can take a bid like that.

I have been trying for years(just made it to my 6 year anniversary) to get a full time manager bid.  The bids were based on senority 3 years ago.  I thought I out waited all the people with more senority than me.  Our contract changed and threatened to drasically cut hours for part timers.  People with more senority than me came out of the woodwork to sign bids so they could keep 40 hours and insurance.  On top of that, bids are based on ability instead of senority now.  Someone with a year of senority can get a bid over me if they suck up and get the training I can't seem to get at my store.  I learn more at the interviews than I do at my store working.  I don't have time to sit around and do training.  I am too busy working.  Daycrew is very casual, passive.  Nightcrew is very demanding, work work work.

I have been turned down for 10 bids.  I got what they want but keep screwing up key retailing questions.

My thought is: The manager that gives me a shot will not be disappointed.
