I am sick and tired of the customers at Krogers thinking that I am their slaves they do not own me I will be nice courteous to them while I'm on the clock do not bother me I am shopping I do not care if you cannot find it I do not care if you need help I don't get paid while i am shopping krogers is not my boss when I'm off the clock and on my time I don't give a damn about you. Krogers does not own me I only work for them work for them so please when you see me shopping and I do not have a name tag go it is obvious I am NOT working so leave me the hell alone I can't answer your question that would be working off the clock that is against policy and I could be fired for it and I'm not getting fired for your lousy ass so all of your customers just mind your business get your groceries and get the hell out that's what I want to do thank you, !!!

Gee... and I thought I was a misanthrope.  I'm down right cheery compared to you.

Look at it this way:  These people just want to buy food to take home to their families.  Be nice, and you'll probably never see them ever again.

It's also your opportunity to be a hero and save the day in some cases.  You also might just get something positive out of the exchange if you'd change your thinking a bit.  I meet a lot of nice people when I get to escape my department for a few minutes to run something to the back, or if I need something off the shelf.  What I'm doing isn't so important that I can't take a minute or two for someone else.

Sure, some people are just smug jerks.  Don't take any guff from them.  Just help them and get them out of your hair.

Also, if helping someone while off the clock is a big problem for you.  Change out of your uniform shirt.

Cheer up

That doesn't always work. I was in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt the other day and was still getting stopped by people asking questions.

I "love" being stopped in my civilian clothes and asked where things are or offered customer's ID or asked for help up front while I'm checking out my order!  Both happened this week.  This is why I try not to shop my store.  Ever.

oh man don't even get me started!!!... Then what pisses off the most is when I'm on break and heading to the break then get stopped by a customer asking where something is.. ON top of that, whatever crap they are looking for is usually right IN FRONT OF THEM!!! Like read the effing signs you bastards!

Kroger customers hate reading.. they see a sign with a price but fail to read the entire sign so when they go up front for check out they want to pissed and argue a price because they didn't read the sign fully

Whenever I am off the clock or even on break, lunch, my ears don't seem to work too well. (Unless it's a life or death situation.) I've gotten bitched at by am managers, co workers, and customers alike for my techniques. Oh well...

Fortunately for me there is another Kroger down the road that's on my way home. If I'm not in the mood to talk to customers and don't have a change of clothes, I don't have to. And no one there knows who I am to complain about it.

it's not a hate for customers, it's a hate for the lack of respect you get when you're on your own time.

there are some categories of customer behaviors i hate.  stoners blowing pot smoke in my face, shopping at the register with two overflowing big buggies using an ebt card that is mutilated and taped back together with a $2 balance ... but hey that's become reality at my store.
