Our store has them all over the front end. I don't mind it but some of them on break are annoying. And they come to the back room with easy customer questions or to find a broom/mop.
They have no control over how they are. Yes, the government subsidizes their pay.
We have one guy that is a trip. He has conversations with imaginary friends. I was leaving work one morning and he was having a conversation with thin air. I had to stop and take a closer look to make sure there was noone there. He was having a better conversation than I do with a person in front of me!
we'll lose one and hire another even if they can't do the job. it's frustrating for those scheduled together.
supervisors need to work around them when it comes to things like spills or even sweeps that need doing. it's a good idea, they may not be able to get another job, but they need to be able to do the job fundamentals.
We have 2 guys on the front end that are mentally handicapped, one of them everyone seems to like since he's friendly to all the customers. The other guy just kind of seems weird to me, idk how he is with customers but i think he bothers people if he's in the break room.
