For the past five years, our associates have shared valuable feedback through our annual Associate Survey. This summer, we will conduct our Associate Survey a bit differently as a shorter pulse survey. Below are some details about what this means.
What is a pulse survey?
A pulse survey is a shorter survey designed to gather a smaller but representative number of associates views. Approximately one-third of our stores, plants and DCs will be randomly selected to participate in the survey. All associates in those locations will be invited to complete a survey. Additionally, about one-third of the associates in our offices will receive an invitation. The survey will be taken electronically again this year, with fewer questions overall.

So now only stores "approved" by them will take the associate survey, while the other stores get nothing. In other words, we don't even get the opportunity to "improve" anything. That bothers me.
We never even heard our results from last year. They keep thinking that blue jean days and crummy lunches a few times a year will make people care about OSAT. Seems like a lot of our comments are people asking us to get a gas station, some how our score will go up if we say hello to every customer that comes near us.
Your Cultural / Inclusion council should have the results from your survey. they're supposed to have been working on your focus questions but well...
But yeah we've known for a month or two they were switching up the employee survey. My immediate reaction was cynical. This is to bury bad results. They think they can just get a sampling of associates and generalize. There's no reason to not let every associate take the survey.

Ohh, management here can't seem to get anyone to join the council. My guess is they save money on having the surveys being analyzed if there isn't as many of them.
Our opinion never mattered to them from the beginning.
The company doesn't care how the "associates" feel. Happy or sad, as long as the money continues to come in and the corporate executives are able to continue to live comfortable, worry-free lives, that's all corporate cares about.
The results showed last year that associates believed that promotions aren't being given to people who deserve them most and the top reason for getting a promotion was sucking up to management and or who you know. Well the butt kissing assistant heads in my dept. have dropped like flies over the past two years in my zone. Theft, sexual harassment, not being able to do logs and tools cussing in front of co-managers/customers. I don't need to see Krogers list of core values.........my parents, my schooling and my churches have cemented those values 10x over long before I every hit a time clock for this company.
Those surveys are only to determine the level of misery amongst the workers; they want you miserable, frustrated and unhappy to the point that you QUIT before they have to give you benefits or start making too much per hour; it is ONLY a gauge for upper management to assess how successful their POOR treatment of employees is working and how much ****tier they can make it. Anyone that has been there longer than a few years knows those surveys are WORTHLESS and NOTHING changes.
Managers at Kroger are SOCIOPATHS. Learn that and you will be able to tolerate working there.

All surveys, 'company reviews', etc. are useless. Even if the manager received a 0% satisfaction report from the employees, nothing would change. There are too many jobless people for it to matter.

wait a minute in the original post did i see the words "valuable feedback"? Surely not valuable to the employees but sounds like some empty words to me. All the time on this board and in the store i hear about these surveys now i am learning they really mean nothing. If this is to get you "to quit" then its working cause i have seen people that have been there for a short time and then there gone. I try to keep my interaction with managers at minimum at all possible when i can during my shift.
