know where everything is in every isle... also if you're looking for the place for something check the bar code and match it with the tag. normally you'll only need the last 4-5 numbers of the code.

Learn to rip packages open real fast and learn where everything is so you don't have to walk as much.

Careful with the blade. Learn to feel comfortable while using it, and in time, you'll be cutting at a rapid pace. Always wear your glove! I know it may sound ridiculous, but sometimes it's as if the blade is just hungry for your skin! Switch your blade oftenit'll make cutting boxes a whole lot easier and safer. I don't know how the night crew employees are your store...at mine they fool around a lot hmm gossip and backstabbin'. Stay professional :) focus on getting your work done, & learn where everything goes. Good luck to ya!

Sounds like most stores.  One thread said the Deli department was the worst.

The minimal case thrown per hour is 55. But trust me you will want to learn how to throw faster than that. I was hired as a stocker, then 6 month later was promoted to frozen manager. Then I became a grocery manager. Now I am an associate manager all within 2 years. Have good work ethic, learn cao, learn how to properly put up and organize backstock. And I stress learn to throw stock fast. At first it will be uncomfortable but after awhile you will find little things how to cut cases and open boxes without cutting tape. Good luck I'm sure you will be fine.
