2 HDMI ports went out. Also it shorted the HDMI on my Dish Network DVR. I read online people were having problems with the 32' Coby TV's. I also read there was a recall. Also read Coby has gone out of business voiding warranties. I don't know what to do. I am upset I lost $200.00 on the TV to be exact it was $215.00 with tax. It was in February but like I said it should had the 1 year warranty. IDK what to do. I talked to my manager and he said he would look into making it right. Even if they give me Kroger gift card worth the amount. I did pay for this with my credit card. It was the first thing I purchased with the card I called the card company and they told me the date I activated the card. I have somehow lost the receipt. I put it in the side of the box it's gone. I hope Kroger can make this right for me. BTW I have worked there 20 years. I know I should have went to Wal-Mart and got one with a warranty but the one at Kroger seemed good enough for me they had one on display and the picture looked good. It just seems like it is taking forever for the manager to check into it. Who should he have to call? If he just refunds me would they risk him at being fired? I don't think so he's been there longer than me. I know someone who sold TV's for years and they told me when a company would go out like Coby did they would always make things right. Please no negative remarks I know I should not have bought a TV from Kroger so please don't leave negative replies.
Yes I know to both replies. I am on a budget. I actually went to Wal-Mart. I was looking at 42" TV's I am very knowledgeable about what to buy as far as HDMI ports Composite video jacks ETC. I wanted at least 3 HDMI and 2 Composite video. Wal-Mart did not have any of the TV's I checked in stock. I know all about Coby and they made cheap radio's I also know they were at one time an OEM for other Manufacturers but they failed at that. I figured I would give them a chance. I major brand like LG can fail. My father has sold TV's for 40 years so I know about these things. My whole point of the post was to get input on what I could do? Yes I made a mistake but I feel Kroger should do something really. Our store has refunded other things after a year. I am a loyal employee also I am a customer I chose to buy it from Kroger.
You're obviously not very knowledgeable about it because you bought a freaking Coby TV and care about composite video jacks (analog video has been outdated for years).
Anyway, if your manager won't refund you there's nothing to be done about it. If Toyota went out of business would you expect your car to be serviced by them still? Yeesh.

I am the one who is paying for the TV if I want composite jacks I will get them. That does not mean I don't know it was by choice also buying a Coby was by choice.
You're not gonna win anything here. I mean, sorry this happened to you, but sometimes some of us screw ourselves-------and that's what happened to you here. Eat the loss, learn from it, and move on.
If you have the time date and amount of the transaction and your card number the morning bookkeeper can print a copy of the receipt for you. That's more info than some people give us but then we're wasting all day going through every transaction.
Kroger might refund it or might not, that's management's call or just contact the manufacturer. We refunded several of the tablets last year after you'd think they'd have said no way.

It doesn't take all day if we have even just the card # and date. Takes all of 5 min.

They have tried to look it did not go back as far as February. I just found I hope something that will be useful. I logged in to my card holders site. I found the statement from February. It has a reference number and shows $215.99. Maybe this will help. I am going to look for the receipt right now. I have got to do something I cannot keep hauling around the TV in my car.
And BTW the manufacturer has gone out of Business. I looked in the closet where the box was stored. Could not find the receipt. I can call my card and give them the reference # maybe they can tell me a time.

Don't waste your time. If you have the date and amount, that's all they need. If they can't find your receipt with that info, they won't find it with anything more. Trust me.
