I just recieved a call stating that I start orientation next week. What exactly will I be doing? The hiring manager also told me to "dress comfortable", does that mean jeans and a nice t-shirt? I'm going to be a cashier if that helps.
You will need to complete a military style obstacle course if you choose to continue mission. It starts with courtesy clerks throwing canned vegis at you, then crawling thru muddy parking lot under carts and finishing with A flaming rotating hoop.
just kidding.
Welcome to kroger.
You will be sitting at a computer watching training videos and answering questions. You won't know until you get there whether it is hot or cold in order to pick light or heavy clothing. Not sure how your district does orientation. It seems some do the orientation in hiring store and others send you off to a district office for orientation. But you might get some practice on a register. Training in store will take info from orientation and let you train with real customers. Thats when you need to remember everything you learn.
Good luck.

All I did at my orientation was watched videos, read stuff, and then filled out some paperwork for about two hours with 4 other new hires in the conference room. That was pretty much it. There's really nothing to it. I just wore jeans & a t-shirt too. After, I got my uniform (Polo shirt & apron).
