Kroger scheduled me on my wedding day!

I've been giving them MONTHS notice and requested it off e schedule a very long time ago, and Im getting married THIS saturday and I am scheduled 8:30-5pm.

I've  been telling all week long, I wont show up.. They haven't corrected the schedule either, So I am doing a no call no show. They know I'm not sick.   Will I probably automatically get fired for this? I've been here 5yrs

No, your department head scheduled you for that day.  You need to talk to them.

At least call off officially if they're not going to do anything about it. Maybe try getting someone to work for you.

My dept manager told me she gave it to me off and they "changed her schedule" because of under staffing..

Then call in two hours before your shift, speak to a manager, tell them you can't be there, then hang up. Don't explain why don't give them a chance to pressure you.

Whoever you're marrying is going to give you a much better relationship than Kroger has so far. Dump your managers for your fiancee.

There needs a 'Like' button for that one.

It's Kroger, though. They'll want (or demand) a hand-written letter from the minister and a piece of wedding cake before they'll believe your excuse.

Ugh oh, did you forget to invite her? Did you get your wedding cake from Kroger?  Who did the flowers?

Talk to the store manager asap and let them know you will not be there and to cover your shift.  You have enough to do without worrying about calling in 2 hours before your shift.

Congratulations!!!!!

Talk to your store manager? Let him or her know you're getting married and that you requested the day off but it wasn't put in the schedule? That's a good start. They may (jokingly) demand to see the wedding ring, but damn, really? I know that would not be a problem in my store, ever. Never freaking god awful ever. smile

As long as you didn't get married every couple of months.

There ya go!  She's pissed.  Just go to work straight after the wedding.  Call in, tell them you're running a little late. LOL

First off congrats!!!

Second, enjoy your wedding day. I'm sure when you return to work your next shift they'll want to see pics.
Wedding FIRST, work SECOND. Especially if it was already approved.
