Any number of things could cause it. 1 you dont actually have enough people and they decided to cut hours to avoid full time for employees (my store manager loves this) 2. they are pulling deli hours to other departments like having a cashier scheduled in the deli on paper who couldn't work in the deli to save their life even as a cashier, bakery isnt making enough sales to justify their hours so the deli manager schedules some employees on paper as being in the deli. 3. your coworkers are not working their full hours and going home early, this means the computer sees hours worked and thinks everything was ok. My manager loved me for staying and getting the painful crap done, restock the whole sandwich bar, get trucks, organize the cooler,clean were coworkers never clean. That being said management does what they do, cutting hours is their plan A. I currently am listed as PT but with 3 fulltimers and me I have to work 40+ or we dont have any sales due to no product. All you can do is try and tell them hey they need you so you can serve customers and make the company money. OSATs also can get your department more hours IDK why!
