Suspensions?

I know write ups stay in your file 3-9 months after being written the lay dormant in your file (don't let anybody say they go away, they NEVER  go away. EVER). But what about suspensions. For example say if a co-worker is suspended for 1-5 days, howblong does the suspension stay in your file? Is it for a specified amount if time and "disappear" or does it stay in your file until you quit or get fired?

If a write up doesn't go away, I wouldn't think a suspension would.

They will stay in your file forever.  I don't care what's in my file btw.  Once I saved the company thousands of dollars by alerting our manager on duty our frozen cases weren't running right.  He went to the compressor room and saw the compressor wasn't running correctly and had someone out to fix it.  Do you think they put that in my file?

They probably put a note in your file saying you should have caught it sooner LOL!

Yep. Or a note saying that you didn't come up front to help bag when that was going on.

That union handbook is going to vary contract to contract, as to how long disciplinary action stays on file. There's a whole section about it.

It's a wonder they didn't accuse you of sabotaging the compressor and write you up for that.

It's a wonder they didn't ask you why you weren't doing something else while you were busy paying attention to the compressor and frozen cases.
