Customer Bill Issue
Permalink

On my shift yesterday, I got called into the manager's office. When I got in there, the manager started telling me that a lady came through my line on Sunday and paid less than what her bill was. What my manager told me: After I checked her out, she looked over her bill and saw that it wasn't right. She saw that the total was lower than what it should've been. She went up to customer service about it and she was, indeed, right. I guess she gave me $200 because her total was 100 something. However, her original total was supposed to be 300 something. She did pay the extra $100 so the store wasn't at any loss. So, could this possibly be a computer error?

Note: I wasn't even aware that it happened. I had no idea that could even happen either. The customer did pay with cash. Also, this incident did NOT result in a write up.

There are really way too many ways for this to happen to say for sure what the issue was.

That's why I always count and repeat to the customer how much money they give me before I start counting out their change. Now if only I could remember to give them postage stamps!!!

If the total on the receipt actually was less than $300, then it'll most definitely be the computer's fault. How so? I dunno. Kroger software is like a decade behind unless the machine itself is new.

How many Kroger employees/managers do you think actually know that this forum exists? I sure didn't until I came across it on Google. Honestly, I don't even think Kroger cares. I've been on this forum since I started working at Kroger in May and nobody has ever said anything to me about it.
