I was recently hired for overnight stocking. I filled out a bunch of paperwork after the drug test came back with the front end manager, and she enrolled me into a new hire orientation class. I never knew when it was though. I've already done 2 days of computer training, some training with the grocery manager and start my first shift tonight. I have a good idea on what I'm going to be doing, from both the computer training and the grocery manager talking to me in depth. Am I screwed though if I missed the new hire orientation class that I was enrolled in, but didn't know when it was? Or is there a possibility to re-enroll and take it the next time they have it? I'm stressing so much over this right now, afraid I might lose my job before I even start...
If you've already done CBTs and talked with the grocery manager, I think you're trained enough. I don't think you need to learn up-selling techniques or how to run a register if you're on 3rd shift.
I definitely feel I am trained enough, but the only concern I have is completing the "Passport to Success" packet. It requires me to attend a new hire orientation class, which like I said I was enrolled for, but never knew when it was, so might have missed it since it's already Friday...
So they won't fire me if I missed the class that I was enrolled for? That's my main question. Would the grocery manager be able to sign that part of the packet off even if I didn't do the class?

He should be able to, yes. You can probably take it another time, though. If you really need to.
