How does this work? Who is eligible for raises (just salary?) and does it vary from contract to contract?

What contract are you in? I'm in UFCW 75 and got a lump sum check yesterday.

Are you at the top of the payscale?  It took me 6 years to get to the top payrate on my contract.

If so, then you might should get a lump sum check.  If your anniversary date was in the wrong spot, that might make a difference.

Ask your shop steward.

A letter came out from the union with some very specific information about hire dates and who is eligible for the check. I was hired a few months later than the cut off date and I didn't get one either.

Yup, it sux.  My hire date was after several major holidays.  I missed getting paid for them.  But, I am good to go now.

Sorry Loop2010.  In my division, you have to be at the top payrate to get the lump sum check.  And even then as a part timer, it is only half of what the full timers get.
