So last week was my first back from vacation. While I was gone one of our co-managers was replaced by another guy who use to be a store manager. Well the bad thing is this guy has been a manager at two other stores and they both shut down. How can a guy with this reputation, he's been complained on about harassment and other stuff.
My question is, Why would a company keep this guy on? Morale has been bad enough lately because of the current manager and other co-manager, but to bring this jerk on makes it worse.
Management ALWAYS has a way of coming back except in
EXTREME circumstances. And EVEN THEN he/she may come back. The only thing you can do is hope for the best. As for 'why not train a fresh new guy' I'm guessing it will take away from corporate's unnecessary bonus. Hopefully this guy learns from his failures and cleans up his act
Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily hang a store closure on the manager(s). Lots of factors go into that decision... usually involving location, shrink, market etc.
Look at your own store, and your previous MGT. In my old division, I worked at what was considered a "last chance" store. They usually shipped in managers that blew it at bigger stores for one reason or another, and were given a chance at redemption.... or at least some "punishment" hehe. It was a sh|thole store, and I don't miss it one bit.
