You can ask for a leave of absence instead if you want to come back after school ends for the semester.

But if you still want to quit just give the main manager a note saying you are quitting and that youre giving a two weeks notice.

There are examples online that you can use to write one, then date it and give it to the store manager.

It's Kroger. You can write it in crayon if you want. As long as you let them know not to schedule you any more after your last available day, as to not inconvenience your soon to be former co-workers after you're gone.

But that won't matter, it will be at least 6-8 weeks before anyone is hired to replace you.

Just write something simple like this:

Today's date

To Whom it May Concern,

This letter is to inform my intention to end my employment with Kroger on September 15, 2014. After this date, I will no longer be available for scheduling, as I will be attending college.

I want to thank you for the opportunity to work with you, and I wish you all the best.

Sincerely,

Written signature

Printed full name

Oh and make sure that at the very least, your store manager gets it.

Department heads, Supervisors, and Co-managers tend to "forget", and screw you over in the end.

I don't particularly "like" my director, but he is the only manager who takes things seriously. One of my co's "forgot" to relay my availability once and guess who got the ass chewing! Yours truly of course.
