If you spend labor day in produce then you know what I mean. Replace these idiots with ANYONE...an untrained monkey, middle school kid, obama..it can't get any worse then this. If you can't get enough plus some then DON'T PUT IT ON SALE.
It's not just your department. It happens everywhere. I can't tell you how many times they'll put something on sale in the bakery department and we won't be able to get it for a whole week.

This. Every single time they put sourdough squares on sale.
Oh yes, we hide all the good stuff in the back. You just have to know somebody.
Or sometimes we bury the good stuff under the piles of bad stuff so you'll root through it
like a wild boar.
(If you are not gonna put it in the warehouse then don't put it in the ad)
You guys must be supplied by the great lakes regional distribution center too. That wharehouse sucks. I think most of the problem is they supply too many stores.
And the customers never believe you when you say it's out. We're just hiding it back there somewhere to be cruel...
Stuff like this happens to me all the time.
Customer: Do you have any lemon pudding cakes in the back?
Me: No ma'am, we're out. (I know this because I'm the one who puts up the order.)
A few minutes later another employee will say to me, "This lady is looking for lemon pudding cakes. Do we have any?"
Sometimes they'll even ask a third person to see if they get a different answer.
Don't forget too those customers that "insist" that you're lying to them after coming back from checking in the back and demand to see a member of management. I once had a customer that wanted to know if we had any more of a particular kind of beer in the back as the shelf space was empty. I told him that I would go check for him, and spent about five minutes searching through the backstock area where the beer is kept. There was none, so I went back to inform him of that, and he smugly says, "I want to speak to a manager," so I go to a phone and call a manager and explain the situation, and she asks me, "you checked, right? What does he expect me to do about it?" and I told her, "I guess he doesn't believe me." She shows up, asks him, "yes sir?" and he asks for the SAME beer that I just checked on, so I go with her to the back and she says, "f*** him. He wants to be like that? We'll just hang out back here for a good ten or fifteen minutes and make him wait while we check our phones," so she pulled out her smartphone and I did as well, and we both used the downtime to check our e-mails and stuff like that. Eventually, we both put our phones away and went back onto the sales floor, where he was still waiting, and she looked at him and simply said, "nope," and he looked MAJORLY p***** as he stormed off.
Got what he deserved, I'd say.

If the item is out of stock at the warehouse, it doesn't matter if the department manager orders one or fifty of an item. The result is still the same: no product.
Followup to my first post..so day after labor day guess what? All that corn that corn they scratched day before labor day and labor day, got my whole order the next day. Just in time like usual.
