What is gonna happen?!

I have worked for Kroger for one month now & I have never been late or anything. Well last week I checked my schedule & they scheduled me Tuesday & Wednesday which are days im unavailable due to college & it says it on the eschedule as well. I got stuck in class doing my first exam so my call telling them I wouldn't be in was an hour late. Last Friday I talked to the general manager & he said I was fine as long as I called in. Well when I alled in today (an hour late) I over heard one of the other managers saying all of this crap about how I'm gonna be in trouble & what not. Can I get fired for this?

Lol. The manager talking about you getting in trouble was probably joking around. If your schedule availability was APPROVED to be unavailable on those days, then you are definitely OK. If it wasn't approved, then they can fire you since you're likely on probationary period. Firing someone for something that small though is usually not in Kroger's best interests, as they've already sunk about $200 on you. Think about it. They make you interview with a manager, take a drug test, go to training, and then they give you a uniform. High turnover is expensive.

That's the thing though they didn't approve it but they have the past few weeks & I'm NOT gonna skip college classes because that is my future!

Did you put the request as PERMANENT or just week-by-week? If you didn't make it permanent, that's your fault. If they aren't honoring your recorded and accepted availability, then you are OK.

I am 1000000% sure that I put it in there as unavailable & yes permanent.  But my dept head said it was put in as available.

Look at your request history. If it says unavailable and was approved, you're in the clear.

It could be there because my store manager goes back and schedules people on days off that they're unavailable to work

Go back and double check, triple check, and then check it some more. It my be a mistake and easily fixed. Do it ASAP. I believe you can go online to do your availability. If you did have said days as unavailable and it was switched on you, then switch the days back.

Our store schedules people on their unavailable days that have been approved for months all the time. You can't get in trouble for not coming in on a day that your schedule says is an unavailable day for you. I've had them do it to me before and I just tell them "Sorry, but I won't be in that day." They can get mad all they want, but your unavailable time is unavailable for a reason, and they just have to deal with it.

This pretty much sums up the issue and is honestly the best way to handle it. Be respectful, but firm, and as long as it violates your previously accepted availability, you're in the clear.
