New Front End Manager

He didn't schedule my paid personal day I wanted to take this week because he said he didn't know how.  He gave me the day off without pay though.  I told him I would put another day on the eschedule.  He said he didn't know how to schedule it.  OMG I had to tell him ok, I would find out for him and let him know.

I had to work 6 am to 2 pm the other day.  He came in at 10:30 and yelled at me in front of everyone because my line was backed up at 11:00 am.  Where was he?  Can he not stay up front and help?  Or maybe tell me he won't be on the floor for awhile?   I have to watch the floor, ring up sales, bag the groceries and handle customer complaints.  I waited until the line cleared and nobody was around and told him sorry, I was talking to an irate customer and got distracted.

I asked him at 10:45 when my break was, he said he didn't know, probably when he got to take his break. (He came in at 10:30)  Same thing he told me when I asked him about my week vacation.  He said "I don't get to take one" and walked off.  My understanding from what he tells me is "I'm not getting one so I don't care if you get one". (I did finally wear him down and got my vacation but it took three or four times)

Today is the day I'm going to have to pull him aside and let him know he is never allowed to raise his voice to me especially in front of customers and other employees. I'm going to ask him if he has met our union steward yet and let him know to go ahead and get her before he comes to me to talk about my job performance.

I hate having to train these young kids, lol!

Wait, if he doesn't get a vacation at all, around here that means he's worked for the company less than a year.

Why the hell did he get to be FEM already?

He just transferred to our store.  Not sure how long he's been with the company.  If he would just read our contract he can with mgr's approval postpone his vacation until after the 1st of the year and not loose it.  But since he is so pissy with me I'm not going to mention it.

It's to my understanding front end managers CANNOT deny a vacation to ANY front end employee. ONLY store management can do that.

True.  I even asked him about my vacation in front of the store manager.  He just kept putting it off.  I finally wore him out and got it though. He had to stay on the front end and work today lol, DM was in with her group.  Seems one of our employees wrote an email to the DM about how poorly she thinks the store is run.  I bet there were 6 or 7 "suits" there with the DM.  It was great.  One of them came up to my register and interrupted me while I was talking to a customer.  He said "can I have that basket", talking about the black hand basket that was on the floor behind me.  I said "yes sir, just one minute" and went back to helping my customer.  He got pissed, yelled NEVERMIND and walked off and found another one LOL! Another dumb punk ass kid.  I swear lately I just don't put up with it anymore.  I don't care who you are or what your position is, don't yell at me, don't rudely interrupt me! CUSTOMER FIRST! LOL!  I was waiting for someone to come have a talk with me about it but they didn't.  I think they might be getting the message - don't F with Ms. White.

Whew!

They tend to forget, CUSTOMERS supply our paychecks, keep us employed. Without them, corporate would be forced to dip into their un-needed bonus "kitty" to pay us, and "we can't have that..." And sooner or later, the kitty will run out.

No customers=No business
No business=No hours, no pay
No pay=Business closure

it doesn't matter if you're scheduled off no pay, just make sure you put it to be paid for it.  my store keeps a book at the AA's desk.  you're not the only one who's been in this situation.  it's ridiculous.  i don't know how some of these people rise to the level of FEM.  no

Can't do that.  I work 5 days this week with 2 days off.  If I put in for pay it would be considered 6th day pay at time and 1/2.  Plus I get a day holiday pay this week too.

I get what you're saying.  I thought you got the extra day as off no pay.
