Do I heed a union rep when boss asks for incident report.

My Boss needs an incident report about myself and another employee not getting along.  I left a message for my rep but the Mgr. need this in 24 hours.  What should I do.

an incident report is just getting details on an event that happened. and who witnessed it.

if you did something wrong and you say you did in report it could lead to discipline up to and including termination.

if you did do something wrong don't sign anything.

if you did something wrong get a rep

if you get taken to the office for doing something wrong you are not required to answer any questions or sign anything

if taken to office for discipline invoke your weingarten rights

Weingarten rights also apply when you are being asked questions that could lead to another person being disciplined. You aren't getting along with this person, but if you aren't comfortable writing a statement that could get them suspended or fired, don't be afraid to invoke your right to representation.

Representation is a federally-granted right, but it's on the employee to request that representation.

If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at this meeting. Until my representative arrives, I choose not to participate in this discussion.

Do all parties involved need to do an incident report?
