Kroger 466 in Vicksburg, ms. Allows front end clerk get insurance benefits and she has been at fuel center for almost 2 years now. She is black I'm white I've been in fuel center for almost 6 years now they was even giving her seniority over me she has been getting 25+ hours until this coming week. They finally gave me seniority over her I get one more hour than her. Remember she got 5 more than me. She was hired in store as a clerk but she should have gotten insurance dropped as soon as she came to fuel center. We don't get that right.its her stupidity for coming to fuel center from store. She was up for full time position when they sent her to fuel center. Union said she could help out fuel center and still draw insurance. I say 5 days a week and almost 2 years is not helping out its permanent

Why wouldn't fuel center clerks get insurance?
If she's paying into it she is entitled to it just the same.

And it doesn't matter how long you've been in fuel center, it matters how long you both have been employees. If she has worked for the company longer than you, then yes she does have the right to more hours than you. Sorry but that's how it is.

If you were ranting based upon your track record, work ethic, and accomplishments, I'd have some form of sympathy with you. But, since it's just a whine about seniority, the amount of ****s I gave went down to the same amount of pigs that can fly at this very moment.

Our fuel clerks get no insurance either. OP is saying she doesn't have the right to have access to insurance since she works fuel now, and I'd agree.

I'd report it to the union. They're basically cheating by keeping her position as "front end/clerk" and having her scheduled at fuel.

Ok, I guess I'm wrong then but why aren't fuel clerks eligible? I thought they were considered front end clerks, but not courtesy clerks...

They might very well be in your contact, but in mine (and apparently in OP's too) they are their own clerk and don't get insurance (except for the lead.)
