Sometimes I feel like the goal some UNIT managers and Co managers have in mind is making as less sales as possible, or coming up with schemes designed to hurt a department in order to create an excuse to jump on the workers and try to make changes to said department as a way of pushing folks out of the door.
Sorry for longest sentence in human history.
My point is, my job is to help the company stay afloat. But they got some managers that seem to want to do the opposite. There was a long time ago that Kroger fired something like 100 managers. I think they need to go do this again, and start bringing in quality managers.
For my division, the amount of quality managers has been decreasing steadily, as more and more of the good ones are retiring.
I know I'm hated by a few in my division(especially my unit manager in my store) because I can see these schemes coming a mile away and can work up a strategy to dispel it. Sorry, but I like my job to be as easy and stress free as possible, while keeping shrink down, and keeping the DM from always having something bad to say when he/she visits our store.
I donno, but Kroger execs seem to think paying us too much money, etc, will hurt the company, but in the long run, it's the managers and their antics that will be the company's undoing.
Yep. Like when we have surprise walk thrus. After failing the first one, one would THINK, "hey, let's give more hours to these guys to get their dept up and running properly before the next visit." That would be the SMART and LOGICAL thing to do. But nope. Let's add EVEN MORE tasks to their overflowing plate of to do's.
