I REALLY don't like seeming completely ignorant, but, I'm sorta desperate right now!! If you work for Kroger's, you already know what a good job it is, but, supervisors and customer service employees that are obviously in a higher level than you are can really be buttholes sometimes! I'm learning the register,, & I've TOTALLY been thrown into the position & I LITERALLY only had like 10 min of training!! I'm fairly good @ figuring out stuff on my own, but, I'm having trouble remembering the "SEQUENCE" to sign on/off the register!! I've asked NUMEROUS times, & they usually just do it for me so fast I can't see what to do myself!!! Can you give me a "button-by-button" answer so I can get past this ridiculous hurdle? Signon button, 1st, then code...including the "/" or WHAT???? Your assistance is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!
If your machine is locked (will show your user ID number on it and won't let you sign in), you will need to enter your password and then hit signon before you signoff.
1234567/0001 -> "Sign On" Key - Where 1234567 is your ID, and 0001 is your password
To Lock your register:
"No Sale" Key -> "Sign On" Key
To Sign out:
"Sign On" Key x2
The thing to keep in mind however too:
Never "Sign Out" of the register unless it's been emptied and dropped (otherwise it's possible someone could sign-on with a training-ID and open the till and swipe the money). You only need to Lock your register if you're stepping away from it (not moving to the front to wait for customers).
If youre still using the old registers, I havent used them much before they changed them out for the new touch screen ones. But as far as the new ones go, it couldnt be more straight forward.
>Enter your register numbers
>enter your password
>sign on
then to sign out,
>sign out.
it will ask you to confirm this action.
>YES.
Done.
Or you can just ask your managers to show you. And if they are too fast for you, then you could tell them to not go so fast because you have a hard time keeping up. Show initiative.
