I was reading this earlier today. It's funny because we're like 500ft from a Whole Foods store.

"Millennials and Boomers alike are focusing more on healthy eating choices and creatively prepared meals," the analysts write.

Probably the only thing from the article that I've seen first hand in the stores.

Kroger has been around for about 100 years and they are just realizing we exist ? We're like the number one pure grocery retail in the world lol. Wal-Mart is number 1 everything else.

Idk why they're going on about us "overtaking" whole foods; we're already several times the size they are

As a company yes, but in organic/natural foods no.   That's what they're trying to push and by doing so, taking market share away from a competitor.

. . . organic/natural foods . . .   That's what they're trying to push . . .

With hours allocated for only one clerk and merchandise languishing in totes and on carts and pallets, they could push harder at my store.

They should be this year.  That's one of their key initiatives, especially if your store is due for a remodel.   Also with nutrition coming into grocery they are going to be specially training associates for nutrition including taste testing so you have a broader knowledge of the products you stock.   This has not gone live yet, but is something they are really pushing for in 2015.
