Recording phone calls?

So I was told by a little birdie that KROGER policy is that you have to tell someone you are recording them.

I know that each state has its own individual little statutes and what nots on recording and how the laws work.

In Georgia I think I don't have to tell someone.

But I was told if I recorded someone based on a phone conversation from Kroger that by doing so if I did not tell them that I would be violating STORE (aka KROGER) policy.

Is this true?

I don't want to go through my paperwork and find it. I'm too damn lazy and I don't care enough about Kroger to really care. I just want to know.

Georgia is a one party consent state.

Meaning if any one person party (person) in the conversation wishes to record it, they are allowed to.

As for Kroger policy? I imagine they don't want you to.

Thanks for the response -- and not being the anon who seems fixated on me being someone else lately.

I recorded a call to cover my own ass.
Kroger has a history of being unscrupulous, and my management is about as helpful and friendly as the DMV.

Well you know Kroger - it's not against the law but we don't allow it.  It's against the law but we do allow it.  LOL!  Now that's just Kroger.  Then there's the managers and comanagers.  One says one thing, one says another.  Kroger is a mind fu@$ no matter what.

I wouldn't worry about it.  If they had a signed paper from you that they informed you it was against policy that's one thing, but I'm sure it's one of those rules they pull out when they need it, that no employee is aware of.  Plus -  they "fired" you so you don't "work" for them so record away!  Then let your union get you your job back lol!  So if it is a rule, it doesn't apply to you.  They can't have it both ways.

I wouldn't be talking to any other Kroger employees about things if I were you.  Too much gossip goes on at Kroger and no matter what you say, it's never gets repeated correctly after everyone puts their spin on it.
