i need to lower my hours for a while,

Hey so i need to lower my hours from 40hrs a week (I am part time person) to 25-30 due to personal reasons. (I want to volunteer more and I tutor math and English) Can my bosses keep me at 40 hrs even if I want to lower them. I also want to take some summer college classes, just one and its in the middle of the hours i work. I have tried to do it on the e-scheduled and they don't follow it.

Look on your eschedule and see if it was approved.  Talk to your store manager and explain you are taking a class and need to change your availability.  My store is open from 6 am to 12 am.  If they wouldn't let me off to take one class I would walk.

i have changed my hours but they still wont change the hours i work

Did it show APPROVED on the eschedule?  If so they have to honor the schedule change.  If it says not approved or pending talk to the store manager.
