Will I be put on the no re hire list? Obviously, I don't plan on working for the company again but in case of financial emergency I may have to. I'm planning on possibly quitting at the end of my shift tonight. I have another job i currently work that is more hours and money but I have no way of knowing if it will last as it is a temp position with no guarantee on how long it will be. But my Kroger meat department is full of idiotic lazy morons who do nothing and I'm tired of it. Not sure I could last another 2 weeks...
I work in the meat department also! Hope I'm not in yours, I'd hate to get stuck with extra hours.
Instead of giving a 2 week notice, try giving a 1 week notice. We get paid weekly, so you are still putting in a notice, based on our pay cycle, which is sort of standard.
If you just up and quit, yes, you will probably be on a no-hire list.
That's pretty rough. We had a guy get FIRED for essentially time theft, and he wasn't put on a no rehire, and sure enough he got rehired later that year at a nearby store. That nearby store also had the co-manager that fired him from the other store working there at the time of rehire.
I gave a 1-week notice and was told it'd put me on no-rehire. So essentially, I could've quit yesterday and it would've yield same results.
I thought you were giving a 2 week notice, what happened?
Long story short--it was draining me physically and mentally, and in hindsight, it should've happened weeks ago, but me being stubborn and wanting to wait it out is burning me out.
I'm like whatever right now. Just kinda annoyed that I'm being clumped together with someone who literally walked out on the job leaving someone alone in the department. At least I gave some kind of notice, even if it wasn't the one they wanted.
Hate to say it but a 1 week notice isn't enough time to hire someone else, so in a way, someone is going to be left alone if your department is as understaffed as what most stores probably are.
But I don't blame you for quitting one bit either lol

2 weeks wouldn't be either. Someone put their two weeks in and figured that maybe that would move them to get someone in. Nope. Someone quit right out, thought that maybe that'd kick their ass in gear. Nope.
I'm thinking that it'd have to go down to 4 people in the department before they say "okay, something is wrong".
There is, luckily enough people to where there won't be one person closing unless someone calls out. But it's gonna get much worse before it gets better. If it does. :/ Our bakery is in worse shape though, so there's that.
