It looks like the blade came off the track, but didn't actually break.
Still scary as crap, but not as bad.
Also, I would refuse to use the saw until you get a new one. I know I would, as being a meat clerk at $7.40/hr just isn't worth it.
blade did snap and shoot out. It is rare for that to happen, as far as snapping and coming out. Jumping the track is not that uncommon without minor adjustments being made by maintenance.three times in a year is strange or rare. Co was there and scared him half to death. It is on veranet for checking. Do not think it is the saw(s) as much as cheaper / less quality blades . When stores are going thru more blades with less cutting and some snapping , in other stores, one has to look at the blades also.

Yeah, blades breaking is terrible.
I've used a real bandsaw for robotics projects, both at a college and high school level. We've cut steel, aluminum, delrin, wood, plastics, cardboard, paper, hardened steel, etc. Only had a blade break ONCE in OVER 6 YEARS OF USE. (We have gone through a total of 5 blades, however. 2 Wood blades, 2 metal blades, and one that broke. We switch them out for the appropriate use. Metal, use the metal blade. Anything else, wood blade. A wood blade also cuts metal better than a metal blade will cut wood...) Of course, we know how to cut things properly, calculating speed and feed rates, etc.
Haven't had the blade in the meat department, at either store I've been at, break or jump the track.
I can't tell in the picture, but did it cut your finger, or is that just blood on the outside of the glove?
You got lucky on that one lol! Were you using the push plate? I haven't had that happen on the boneless saw but had it happen a few times on the bone-in. It used to scare the crap outta me, now I just laugh!
