I'm typing up my 2 week notice right now, to hand to my manager when I go in today.
Are there any special exit procedures at Kroger, or is it basically just "alright thanks for working here, bye"?
Will I be expected to help train a new hire? Assuming they can bring someone in, I doubt they will be able to, in 2 weeks, I'm in meat/seafood, which is harder to hire for than front end, from what I have heard.
Yea, because you need to be at least 18 to stand around in that department. You probably just hand in the notice and then they'll tell you if you need to train someone or not. Usually they can drag a soul from front end to cover for you until they find someone.

To be fair, we do more than just stand around, haha.
Alright, thanks. My manager probably won't see it until tomorrow actually, I'll just be leaving it inside the department for him to read in the morning, since he won't be there.

Oh no, you don't just leave it. You need to actually hand it to someone, and keep a copy. To easy for them to say they never got it and mark you as ineligible for rehire.

I actually saw my department manager today and gave it to him. I didn't keep a copy though, but he already filed it away.

And in case you're wondering, they really don't care why you quit, or that you quit at all.
Right. It's not like when someone decides to quit working for Google, IBM, or Apple. We are all very dispensable unlike software engineers and senior auditors at Fortune 500 companies. Usually you quit Kroger for a good reason, such as finding a new job or going to school to get a good job. It's not like we are going to start up our own grocery store and compete with them, utilizing our extensive knowledge of Qvision and OSAT to defeat them.
