Hi! I am a fairly new cashier at a Kroger in Louisville (been here just a little over a month), and I'm a little confused about pay increases. I had been told by other front end employees to expect miniscule raises around every six months or so. I was hired starting out at $7.50/hr (not great, but I'm a pre-med college student looking to get some cash however I can). Well, when I went onto Express HR to print out my most recent pay stub today, it said that my pay rate is now $7.80/hr and that I received this raise only 26 days after my official hire date. Is this typical at all? I'm just a bit confused because I haven't been here that long, and I still have almost a month left in my probation period, so it just seems weird to me that I got a $0.30 raise so early on. Any insight on this is greatly appreciated!
Maybe you had previous experience on your job application, and after Kroger verified it, they gave you a raise for experience pay. (Ignore Bagboy when he comes along and says I'm not right lol!)

BAGBOY: I said "maybe", is that ok? (brat)

it could be experience pay. it could be the min wage increase. I dunno but I wouldn't question it :P
