When Hilary Clinton was a little girl, she wrote to the President of the United States and asked how she could become an astronaut.

Bill Clinton said when he was a little boy, he wrote a letter to the President of the United States and asked how he could get him some Tang.

You young kids probably won't get this.

Tang is a fruit-flavored drink. Originally formulated by General Foods Corporation food scientist William A. Mitchell[1] in 1957, it was first marketed in powdered form in 1959.[2] The Tang brand is owned by Mondelz International.

Sales of Tang were poor until NASA used it on John Glenn's Mercury flight,[3] and subsequent Gemini missions. Since then, it was closely associated with the U.S. manned spaceflight program, leading to the misconception that Tang was invented for the space program.[4][5]

Ouch.  I hate when I get busted.

My confusion is believing that most technology/products originate from the space  or military programs.  Of course, they got the technology from captured space crafts.  :)

Well, I was a Tang drinker back in the day so I knew it came out before John Glenn drank it.  It was a big deal and Tang's TV ads always said  something like "Tang, what astronauts drink in space".
