No such thing as a free meal..

Be me, a naive combo clerk, so i was told by a FES that cultural council invited me to some bs diversity summit. At first i was trying to weasel my way out of it but then i was promised a free meal and 8 hours pay. Okay it can't be that bad i told myself. When i arrived it was just a circlejerk ofKrogrr propaganda,  and after this there were some cringeworthy trust exercises. It was horrible man, i contemplated leaving the meeting then ramming my car into the airport and hoping the security would end my miserable existance. The sandwiches where alright but it wasn't worth it.

Sandwiches? At least your council has some form of responsibility and moral attitude in keeping the meal budget low.

The store I worked in took their culture council out to restaurants for their summits and other once-a-month meetings.

The sandwiches will continue until morale improves.

I wish our cultural council took ours to restaurants! I work in the deli and they used to force us to cook them a banquet every Tuesday for lunch. I'm not just talking a few things here, they had us fill up an entire tray cart with food that we didn't even normally prepare. They'd yell at us if we didn't get it done in time. The only nice part about it is that when they were done they would return the leftovers to us and usually only a few things were eaten so we'd get a bunch of free food.  Still not worth the pain of making it.

Eventually though our store scored low on something and to punish them the upper management said "no more food for these meetings."  The last banquet we made was over 2 years ago probably. I don't think they eat anything now.

I would like a turkey slider please, but instead of lettuce may I get a couple hundred dollar bills?
