have y'all heard this? "come see what we have to offer" on hiring day (might be tomorrow, idk) ....minimum wage is what we have to offer. If you didn't have PTSD before, you will now! These folks served their country and they're going to offer them minimum wage?
That goes hand in hand with "great people, great company, great benefits" I work with mostly average people
You've managed to survive the Taleban; now let's see how you fare against the district operations coordinator and his HR dominatrix.
You've been in charge of multi-million dollar equipment and been responsible for others' lives; now come and be hassled over how fast you can stack yogurt cups into a hopeless house of cards.
OP here. With no disrespect to veterans, it almost seems like this company is trying to pick and choose it's target of potential new hires. Like they have such crappy luck finding good help that now they're being more selective, but at the same time trying to "trick" this group into thinking that this would be a good job. I Hope that makes sense. It's as though they're putting the veteran idea out there for customers to hear in hopes that these (likely) good workers think it would be a good job.

I think it is a Public Relations ploy to make the customers think along the lines of American Made. "Kroger is so great, they are hiring Veterans. I want to shop there more."
As for veterans, they are reliable, dependable and normally good at decision making. They will know if they like it or not after a month.
