Does anyone here know when the next back-up program in the southwest(Houston area) division starts? How long does the program last? How long do you have to be floor supervisor to be considered a candidate by your CSM? How much do you start getting paid, and do you still get raises incrementallay, and how much are they? And can a store have two back-ups? I know the answer is probably no, but I love the store i'm at so I thought Id ask anyway; where would they move a person?
Where I work, each store has a CSM and a back up all the time. If someone leaves their position (either due to transferring, quitting, or being fired), they look to fill that spot. As far as I know, there is no period that starts and ends.
At least in my store, there is a CSM, back up, and then 2 people who are just below the back up but still have more power and more pay than other office people. Stores get between 0-2 of those people depending on the size of the store. If the CSM or backup were to leave, the spot would probably either go to one of those people or a CSM/backup transferring from another store.
It's also not completely about seniority. It mostly depends on how much you know. My store had about 8 people total who knew how do do everything in the office. Opening, closing, running and maintaining all of the things in the office, and dealing with stuff management should do but occasionally had us do (such as fast alerts). Some of those people had been in the office for a few years. There were other people who were in the office for 20+ years who didn't know all of that stuff. What you know is more important than how long you have been there.
