i was written up. i a floor sup. i had someone take me out on my scheduled break so they could watch the floor and because no one called the relief manager up because we were dipping during my break so i wasn't there for this she freaks the f&&& out and when i come back in from break she yelling at everyone in front end and everyone gets written up. to be clear we were not dipping when i went to break, the person who took me out was a trained floor sup. my co workers are calling union tomorrow about this. also i am too. this is so stupid and dumb. i decided to quit my job and get any other job.
If you were on a break, then you were on a break. It is the responsability of your break relief to make sure there is no dip and a"nuclear meltdown" doesn't happen. Hope none of front end signed their write ups. Expect retaliation if union gets involved and gets the write ups revoked
So basically what they are saying by writing you up is that you should have prevented a dip while you were on break, so they expected you to work off the clock. Working off the clock is against company policy.

They expect you to never go on break too but that's another story...
a "dip" means you dropped below 80% as rated by the quevision monitoring system. It's most visible as the yellow balls on the monitors (lying about) telling you how many registers you have opening, need now (the next 15 min) and will need in 30 min. It uses heat sensors over the checklanes to track customers.

Call the union rep. That's bull. Some things are out of your control like relief help that doesn't come, customers shopping at the checklanes, payment issues, checklane equipment failures, etc.
As long as you got someone who is trained to watch the floor for your break, you did your job. You are not responsible for what happens while you are on break.
Plus, where I work, you couldn't really get written up for this even if you were there. I guess you can get written up if you refuse to do things they tell you to do (for example, if they say "call a manager up if you ever hop on register", you need to do that), but you can't get written up for doing your job badly if you are trying and not breaking any set guidelines.
