So 3 days ago I went to the job "interview" where you fill out the application and do the saliva drug test; at the end they told me and two other people that they would hit us up with the date of the orientation.
But this morning I got an email saying that I was hired and it told me to check out their onboarding portal to help me prepare for my first day, I went and did the registration and everything but every time I try to log in it says
"Error: Access Denied"
also, I haven't got any calls regarding the date of the orientation (I haven't got any calls at all really).
Could it be that they sent the email by accident? or does it take longer for them to contact the applicants (like I said it's been 3 days)? what was your experience?
I'm extremely desperate for a job so sorry for the dumb question lol
I went through sort of the same thing, I started calling them after about a week and asking when the date was until they scheduled me. I've been with the company a year and a half next week, I'm not sure if it's just my store but it seems that communication is NOT one of Kroger's strong suits. Keep at it until you get it.
Why bother to communicate with people the corporation considers dispensable, interchangeable, and essentially seven-dollar-an hour nuisances?
Don't sweat the onboarding/waterboarding electronic check-offs. Never once were they mentioned in my hiring process. It's a meaningless, very boring, corporate video game.
Did you apply to a particular store? Go there and let them know you've been hired and that you'd appreciate being scheduled for a training shift. Maybe you'll start on the spot but likely sooner than waiting around for the computer monkeys to accidentally hit the right keys.
