How to become a shareholder???

Okay, I've been working for Kroger for about a little over a week, not including training. I received my first paycheck this past Friday. I'm seriously interested in investing, and becoming a shareholder but I have not the slightest idea on how to go about in doing so. Anyone know how I start it? Or with whom I should speak to?

Over 100% of the questions asked on this forum could be answered by asking management in your store.

But heaven forbid that humans actually speak to each other.

Electronic media is destroying the world

 > That is like, the entire point of the board. Discuss Kroger, ask questions about Kroger, whine about Kroger.

Why in the hell would you want to invest shares into Kroger?
The company is the damned Titanic of the retail world.
No matter what the numbers say they will always be losing to their competitors due to their internal policies screwing up their employees and internal areas such as stocking, which in turn trickles down to the customer and the bottom line?

Oh, you want to buy flowers? Too bad, the one employee working there at the moment is up front bagging.
Where's the item on special? In the back, we would get it for you but there are a dozen pallets waiting in front of it.

I thought you had killed yourself by now. Are you still unemployable?

All kinds of good information and phone numbers in the employee handbook, have you looked in it?

Buying a share or shares of KR stock makes you a shareholder, as you likely know.  You can buy online through a brokerage of your choice, absent any company involvement.

Also, I found a reference to this:

Kroger Stock Exchange
This plan lets you share in Kroger's success. You can contribute as little as $3 a week post-tax to buy Kroger stock. You don't pay commissions or fees, and you can sell your stock at any time.  -- Source

Your administrative store person might be a good place to continue asking about the program.

_____

An interesting question is, how many shares would say, 200,000 of us associates have to buy in order to have an impact on how the corporation actually treats its employees?  It's likely a poor-people pipe dream versus the capital of hedge-fund

You sound like an old fart who hates technology. Talking on an electronic message board still constitutes as humans talking to each other. Shocking, I know. It's not like a human doesn't exist behind these comments just because you can't see them.

If you think electronic media is destroying the world, then stop using it.

Aw I've missed you too, Anon!
I thought you had died of brain cancer by now, what with the tumor causing you to write stupid things and all.
Glad to see the chemotherapy worked!
