I've only worked at Kroger for around 3 or 4 weeks now, and I'm totally miserable. I work in the Deli, and I'm overworked, underpaid, not being trained properly and am basically the scapegoat of the department. I feel extremely underapriciated even though I work my ass off, it's hard to do a good job if no one tells you how to do your job. A new hire who started a week before me is treated way better and is always being pulled away to be shown how to do stuff while I work on what he was supposed to do. I was shown how to close 2 times but never shown how to clean the fryers or chiller or basically anything except how to wipe down the glass and have been closing for 2 weeks straight and getting bitched at for nit doing my job right when I don't even know I was supposed to or how.
Basically it sucks a$$ and I'm quiting soon. Since it's going to take 6-8 weeks to replace me should I even bother giving a 2 weeks? I don't care about anyone else there they're all drama queens/d*cks and they're all not getting many hours in the first place. And how exactly would I go about that? Who do I give my letter of resignation to? I'm so fed up I'm about to just call customer sevice and tell them to tell magagment I'm done and not to call back
It's advisable in case you have to reapply to Kroger at some point. But the deli is the toughest department to be in. It's always shortstaffed, and they expect the world of you. As someone who worked in the deli for 10 months, I don't blame you for wanting to leave, and you're right; it's gonna take 2 months to replace you, if ever--especially since it's hard to retain people in that department.
But like I said, while many just quit, it's just better to give them notice. Whether or not they find someone in 2 weeks to replace you is on them.
