Ok, so I worked at a Kroger in TX back in mid 2009, was only there for a few months. I was in the Deli, I got frustrated with one of the worst customers Ive ever dealt with, even to date. Anyway, I slammed one of the sliding glass doors where the meats and cheeses are displayed, cracking the glass. (yes, I realize this was a very immature response, no excuses) So I talked to one of the top dogs of the store who was there that night, he was obviously disappointed but didnt fire me or anything, if I remember correctly he said he was gonna talk to my supervisor (the Deli manager) but I went home, had the next couple days off, and went in on one of those days off to get next weeks schedule, I wasnt on it....understandable, but I was told I was fired, I left messages with my supervisor wondering what was goin on, never got called back, so I just assumed I was either fired or they wanted to make it look like I quit.....Anyway, what Im getting at is, here we are almost 6 1/2 years later, and Im now in Ohio. I recently applied at a Kroger here, I DID NOT mark down that I have previously worked for a Kroger. I figured if I did, and explained everything my application just gets put aside or whatever they do with em. I also figured that if they still had record of me having worked for the company, they would see it and not even bother calling me for an interview. Well I did get called by a recruiter, answered a couple interview like questions and was given an actual interview time for a few days from now. Well, I got to thinking, I never had to give my SS# on the app, and the recruiter made a point that they will ask for a SS# at the interview, assuming all goes well with said interview....so I guess after all that rambling, my question is, will they see that I worked for the company before? does it matter that its been 6 years? or that Im in a different part of the country? I just dont wanna waste their's or my own time if its automatically gonna pop up, not to mention the embarrassment if they come back and say, "oh it looks like you were already employed with Kroger" or something along those lines. Id have to play dumb or just simply get up and walk out lol......And yes, I know, what a horrible person I am for lying on my app and for losing my temper the first time I worked for the company, I know...but Ive never lost my temper like that since, I dont call off sick, Im a good solid employee. this Kroger I wanna work at is right across the street and the few months I worked at the last one I did like, so thats why I wanna try to get in with the company again. I probably should of told the truth on the app, but again, more than likely it just gets tossed....

This was supposed to say WASNT told I was fired.....I couldnt figure out how to edit after it was posted, sorry!
Seriously. Times are tough, I get it, but I sure as hell wouldn't go back to this company. I need the paychecks, yes, but I wouldn't go back after experiencing what I experienced and knowing what I know. This company's internal policies and procedures are simply INSANE. It is a wonder they stay in business. The only reason they do is because they con their customers with cheap prices and swanky ads.

Its right across the street, less than 100 yards....also, when we go back to TX in a few years I could transfer...
no HEB's in DFW....although I think I read they're fixin to move into the DFW market....
My daughter's boyfriend works for an HEB in Ft. Worth.
Well I got that wrong, sorry. He lives in Ft. Worth and works at the HEB in Burleson. There are several HEB stores, one in Waxahachie, Granbury and a few others. Depending on where you live in Dallas or Ft. Worth they could be close enough to shop/work there.
Well let's see. You said you are a good employee. Not so sure about that. Seems you are a liar and will do whatever it takes to get your way. Even seek the advice of other Kroger employees to help you in your dishonesty. I'm glad you're so worried about this though. Lying never gives you any peace of mind does it? I'm not so sure I would want to tell an employer I got mad at a customer and slammed a door and broke the glass and got fired either, but geesh, actually thinking they will just hire you back if you lie? If it were me I would try a different company without alot of contact with the public.
